Mala

Waarom 108 mala kralen is een volledige Mala?


Lieve mensen voordat wij iets zeggen, is het goed om een diep onderzoek te verrichten. Anders verspreiden wij ignorantie. En er is genoeg onwetendheid op deze aarde.

Dus aub vraag een Pandit, een Acharya jee, een Rishi, een Vedic geschoolde in deze.

Waarom 108?

In grote lijnen:
Eigenlijk moet je maar 100 hebben, de ander 8 zijn er in case wij vergissingen maken.
Dat "autocorrect" het dus.

 De Vedische Traditie zit vol met dergelijke “toevalligheden van 108”.

Zielen die op het pad van spiritualiteit en dus mukti zijn vragen vaak waarom ze 108 kralen hebben in een mala?

Eén van de reden, zie Jyotisha Shastras: is dat de mala de nakshatras vertegenwoordigt, de maan huizen aan de Grote-hemel. Vedic Rishi hebben dit verdeeld in 27 nakshatras genaamd.

En elk van deze in vier gelijke sectoren of tewel paada's of 'treden' genoemd hebben, die de 108 treden markeren de maan en de andere Grahas...door de hemel.

27x4 = 108

Verder in Jyotisha:

•Astrologie: er zijn 12 sterrenbeelden en 9 planeten/ Grahas met deze, de nakshatras, de dashas etc. kun  je iemands: verleden, heden,  en toekomst zien.

9 X12 =108. 

Jyotish is een heel superieure Vedische Shastras, die diep in de ziel kan kijken, waar de moderne psychology zelf  geen antwoord op kan geven, vind men in de Vedische teksten, Jyotisha, Bhagvad Gita, Srimad Bhagvatam, Vedas etc.

 door Dharma, Artha, Kam & Moksha te bereiken.

Planeten en huizen: In de Vedische astrologie zijn er 12 huizen en 9 planeten. 

12 X9 is 108.

Vedische Geschriften vertellen dat er 108 manieren zijn om te transcenderen, wat leidt to Ananda. Sat Chit Ananda.


•Verlangens: Er wordt gezegd dat er 108 aardse verlangens zijn bij stervelingen, wij dus.


•Leugens: Er wordt gezegd dat er 108 leugens zijn die mensen vertellen, wij die nog in ignorantie leven.


•Illusies-dwaasheden-Waanideeën: er zijn naar verluidt 108 menselijke wanen of vormen van onwetendheid, wij die nog slapen.


Verder nog:

•Sri Yantra: Op de Sri Yantra zijn er speciale lijnen die de drie lijnen elkaar kruisen, en er zijn 54 van dergelijke kruispunten. Elke kruising heeft mannelijke en vrouwelijke, weer....Shiva- en Shakti-kwaliteiten. 54 X 2 = 108. Balance dus. Er zijn dus 108 punten die zowel de Sri Yantra als het menselijk lichaam definiëren. De hoek gevormd door twee aangrenzende lijnen in een vijfhoek is gelijk aan 108 graden. Pentagon dus : De hoek gevormd door twee aangrenzende lijnen in een vijfhoek is gelijk aan 108 graden. •Tijd: Sommigen zeggen dat er 108 gevoelens zijn, waarvan 36 met het verleden, 36 met het heden en 36 met de toekomst.

36X2= 108

•Hartchakra: De chakra's zijn de magische punten, meridianen, nadies, van energielijnen en er wordt gezegd dat er in totaal 108 energielijnen zijn die samenkomen om het hartchakra te vormen. Een van hen, sushumna, leidt naar het kruinchakra, en er wordt gezegd dat het de weg naar zelfrealisatie is.


•Marmas: Er zijn Marmas, als energie-kruispunten die chakra's worden genoemd, behalve dat er minder energielijnen samenkomen om ze te vormen. Er wordt gezegd dat er 108 marma's in het subtiele lichaam zijn.



•Tijd- Kala: Sommigen zeggen dat er 108 gevoelens-emoties zijn, waarvan 36 met het verleden, 36 met het heden en 36 met de toekomst.

•Natuurwetten in ons te verlevendigen herhalen wij 108 energieën (De reflectie van Paramatma)  Er wordt gezegd dat er 108 belangrijke namen zijn van de Vedische  elk van de goden en godinnen.

Vedic Dharma, Vedische Literaturen heeft een doel: Moksha uit de samsara door Dharma, Artha, Kama.

The enemies of humankind



All suffering in live can be boiled down to these:

kama (lust), 
krodha (anger), 
lobha (greed), 
moha (attachment), 
mada (pride), 
and matsarya (jealousy)

Each religion speaks about it. 
Religion are the stepping stones towards Light. 


 These: kama (lust), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), moha (attachment), mada (pride), and matsarya (jealousy),
Are born out of fear; Fear is born out of ignorance.

When we tap with in-we go deep- we connect with the source of bliss, which is Love, Pure knowledge and already in us.

Love & Pure knowledge are the opposites of Fear & Ignorance.

So when we transcend we connect with the source of all Good, Love, Knowledge, Ocean of Bliss, we become powerful & truthful. 
These beautiful qualities we can implement in our daily life.

Life is bliss, Maharishi-jee said.

Yamas and Niyama

The Yamas

Satya — Sanskrit for Truth
Ahimsa — Sanskrit for non-harming
Asteya — Sanskrit for non-stealing
Brahmacharya — Sanskrit for wise use of 
sexual energy- Celibacy- 
When the Creative energy flows up to
 the top of the body. 
Aparigraha — Sanskrit for "non-possessiveness"



Satya
Meaning:Truth.  Honesty & truth. 
 Satya is the principle of living with integrity. 
This refers to refraining from dishonesty and
 betrayal in thought, word,  and deed. 
 We have to consider what we say,
 how we say it, and in what way it could affect others.
 If speaking the truth has negative consequences 
for another, then it is better to  be quiet.
 Satya should never come into conflict with our 
efforts to behave with ahimsa. 
This precept is based on the understanding that honest 
communication and action 
 always gives healthy relationship, community, 
and government.
 Deliberate deception, exaggerations, 
and mistruths harm others- not only others-
 but it bring only decay. It ends up in suffering and pain. 
But Satya brings rising up to the divine.
 Maharishi Mahesh Yogi always says: 
Always Speak the sweet Truth.
 And if not keep quiet.   


Ahimsa
In Pure Yoga, Ahimsha means: None Violence.
 It is the principle of being non-harming in thought, word, and deed. 
This includes not harming other people, animals, the environment,
 and especially yourself! 
This discipline also encourages non-violent speech and acts, 
towards anyone.
It also means kindness, friendliness, compassion, and
 thoughtful consideration of other people and things.
 Ahimsa has to do with duties and responsibilities


Asteya
Not Stealing. Anything that doesn’t belong to us.
 Not taking that which is not given. 
Not only does this include material possessions, 
but also other people’s thoughts-ideas-time and energy.
  It allows you to turn your awareness to what you have, 
rather than to what you don’t have.
 It also inspires you to not depend on others to provide time, 
energy, or possessions for yourself.
 Asteya  encourages self-sufficiency.

Brahmacharya
One of the more controversial yamas, 
brahmacharya refers to the wise use and preservation of sexual energy. 
Ultimately, this principle does not necessarily mean celibacy,
 but rather acting responsibly with your sexual energy,
 as a way to respect others and yourself.
 It also refers to controlling your energy in general,
 so as not to waste your spirit and vigor on superficial things.
It also means responsible behavior with respect to our goal of 
moving toward the truth. 
Practicing brahmacharya means that
 we use our sexual energy to regenerate our connection 
to our spiritual self. 
It also means that we don’t use this energy in any way 
that might harm others and our selves.

Aparigraha
We humans love to collect & hoarder.
The principle of non-possessiveness, 
aparigraha  refers to the ability to let go.
 It encourages non-grasping, non-clinging, and non-attachment
 to possessions or even thoughts. 
Aparigraha teaches you not to fill your life with "stuff"
 (including extraneous worries!),
 but rather to take it easy and be happy with what you have. 
Not hoarding is kind of a human thing to do,
 important is to have things we need, and not wat we want. 
Aparigraha means to take only what is necessary,
 and not to take advantage of a situation or act greedy.
 We should only take what we have earned; 
if we take more, we are exploiting someone else. 
The yogi feels that the collection or hoarding of
 things implies a lack of faith in God and
 in himself to provide for his future.
 Aparigraha also implies letting go of the old,
 or when we are done with something of our
 attachments to things and an understanding that impermanence 
and change are the only constants. Give it away. 
       The Yoga Sutra describes what happens when these five behaviors
 outlined above become part of a person's daily life. 
Thus, the yamas are the moral virtues which, if attended to,
 purify human nature and contribute to health and happiness of society.


    The Niyama 

 Saucha— Sanskrit for purity
Santosha — Sanskrit for contentment
Tapas — Sanskrit for self-discipline
Svadhyaya — Sanskrit for self-study
Ishvara Pranidhana —
 Sanskrit for surrender to a higher source, Divine


Saucha
The first niyama is saucha, meaning purity and cleanliness. 
Sauca has both an inner and an outer aspect.
 Outer cleanliness simply means keeping ourselves clean & organized.
 Inner cleanliness has as much to do with the healthy, 
free functioning of
 our bodily organs as with the clarity of our mind. 
Practicing TM-Medidations & Sidhi programs, 
asanas or pranayama are essential means for
 attending to this inner sauca.
 Asanas tones the entire body and removes toxins
 while pranayama cleanses our lungs,
 oxygenates our blood and purifies our nerves.
 "But more important than the physical cleansing of the
 body is the cleansing of the mind of
 its disturbing emotions like hurtful topics, 
hatred, passion, anger, lust, greed, delusion, gossip, and pride."
This principle of cleanliness & 
Purity refers not only to keep a good hygiene,
 but also to stay away from the impurities. 
Keep a moderate & balanced life.

Santosha  means contentment. 
It is the practice of finding joy in your own life,
modesty and the feeling of being content with what we have. 
 But it doesn’t mean giving up your dreams or
 allowing yourself to be taken advantage 
of is not the practice of santosha! Instead,
 this principle refers to an acceptance of the present moment —
 perhaps with a generous amount of patience. 
By finding peace in any circumstance, you begin to learn that every 
challenge is an opportunity for growth. 
To be at peace within and content with one's lifestyle finding 
contentment even while experiencing life’s 
difficulties for life becomes a process
 of growth through all kinds of circumstances. 
We should accept that there is a
 purpose for everything - yoga calls it karma –
 and we cultivate contentment 'to accept what happens'.
 It means being happy with what 
we have rather than being unhappy about
 what we don't have.
 It doesn’t matter what challenges we face, but we are: 
Living in the now.

Tapas:
This means heat, tapas refers to self-control of 
your energy, through 
which you "burn away" impurities.
 It  requires restraint, austerity, and hard work. 
When the extraneous is gone, 
your true energy can come forth. 
On your yoga  mat tapas can mean working with your "edge" 
in difficult poses — but it can also mean fully committing yourself
 to your practice. When you are inspired, focused, and "fired up," 
tapas is at work. Heat burns away loads of unwanted energy.
Tapas refers to the activity of 
keeping the body fit or to confront and 
handle the inner urges without outer show. 
Literally it means to heat the body and, by so doing, to cleanse it.
 Behind the notion of tapas lies the idea we can direct our energy 
to enthusiastically engage life and achieve our ultimate goal 
of creating union with the Divine.
 Tapas helps us burn up all the desires that 
stand in our way of this goal. 
 Another form of tapas is paying attention to what we eat. 
Attention to body posture, attention to eating habits, 
attention, awareness,  to breathing patterns - 
these are all tapas.

Svadhyaya
This is self-study, svadhyaya -requires contemplation and
 self-reflection as you inquire into your own nature. 
By turning your awareness within, you begin to 
realize the deeper meaning of your life, your purpose, 
and your spiritual path. 
The more regular we are in Yoga/ meditation we will be guided 
by the Divine it Self.
Any activity that cultivates self-reflective consciousness 
can be considered svadhyaya. Self referral.
And--> Fix your self. It means to intentionally find self-awareness
 in all our activities and efforts, even to the point of welcoming 
and accepting our limitations. It teaches us to be centered and 
non-reactive to the dualities, to burn out unwanted and
 self-destructive tendencies.


Ishvara Pranidhana
Ishvara pranidhana,  is the practice of yielding to
 a higher power or to your higher-self. 
This practice encourages modesty and humility, 
as it acknowledges the existence of a greater force in the universe. 
 Ishvara pranidhana teaches you that surrendering to the guidance of
 this force will bring peace and  wholeness to your life.
To lay all your actions at the feet of God= Ishvara Pranidhana.
 It is the contemplation on God (Isvara)
 in order to become attuned to God and God's will. 
It is the recognition that the spiritual suffuses everything and 
through our attention and care we can attune ourselves
 with our role as part of the Creator. 
The practice requires that we set aside some time each day 
to recognize that there is some omnipresent force larger 
than ourselves that is guiding and directing the course of our lives.
It doesn’t matter whether you refer to this power
 as " The Divine", "God," "Goddess," "Creator," , 
 or any other name.

All the 8 limbs develops simultaneously & not in steps.
 Maharishi Patanjalie-jee's work is not understood correctly... 
everything is evolving constantly once we are in Samadhi, 
which we already experience by the technique: 
TM & TM Siddhi program,
 we develop all the qualities of the 8 limbs simultaneously. 
That means all the aspects of Yama & Niyama,
which are one of the steps of
the 8 limbs of Ashthanga Yoga 
develops within us simultaneously as well.

Celebrate Makar Sankranti

Celebrate Makar Sankranti


This festival is celebrated in different parts of Bharath, India. In south India, it is popularly called ‘Pongal’, in Punjab and Haryana it is called ‘Lohri’, in Assam it is called ‘Bihu’ and ‘Khichdi festival’ in Bihar.
  • It also marks a harsh winter that will starts to come to an end. Makar Sankranti is the name of the day the great Sun in the sky begins to travel his  journey towards the North. The days starts to become longer and warmer. The same exact day the Royal Sun moves into the constellations (Jyotish- Vedic astrology) into the sign  Makar/Capricorn. The Sun moved from Cancer to Sagittarius-6 signs. And now it traveled  from half of the 12 signs into and other beginning of a half: Makar.

It is believed that, Sun the father of Saturn visits the house of Saturn: Capricorn/Makar. We know that Saturn and Sun don't get along. However, on this day the moment the Sun enters this house (Lord Capricorn's house) and stays there for a month with his son, it's very significant in Vedic astrology to be aware of forgiveness, love, compassion and humbleness. During this time the Sun who represents ego, (ego comes with much more attitudes), the sun actually becomes humble. This is so important. So this visit makes them friendly, harmonious and humble. So, in other words, it simply means that the sun Lord comes down to his son’s place to stay with him in peace. Thus, it signifies forgetting old bitterness and quarrels in the past, leaving behind our well framed egos and stepping into a beautiful world of kindness, love, compassion and harmony.
Establishing warm and loving relationships with the people we love, ending any kind of bitterness or grudges we hold and also creating a happy frame for us and for the people around us truly signifies why we should enjoy this festival of when even the stars come together in union.
  • Harvest time for farmers
  • Rituals/Prayers
People clean the house completely, especially the praying area. Families wake up early and take completely bath, in river. In India if they can visit the Ganga they will. One add tilak on the for head. People pray to the Sun & to Shani, offer flowers and receive blessings. Decorations are placed. People specially Worship  ‘Surya Dev’ by lighting the lamp and chanting ‘Surya mantra’. The Surya Mantra: “Om Hram Hreem Hroum Sah Suryaya Namah”. Some after all the rituals are completed, they do distribute ‘Baayna’ to all the married ladies in the family and friends along with the priests.
  • Many women will pray for longevity of loved ones. Husband included and every other family member.
  • The onset of the auspicious Uttarayan period. This is the period between Makar Sankranti and Karka Sankranti. It's believed who leaves the body in this period they enter heaven. In MahaBharathta Bhishma actually waited for this auspicious moment to open up so he could leave his body and free him self from the cycle of birth and death.
Kumb Mela. On this day the Kumb Mela will start. Never been there, but from stories one can say that this is a must do once in life time! A together at the union of: Ganga, Yamuna & Sarasvati. This togetherness in the Holy water must be energizing.
This Hindu Faith is not a faith, a lifestyle to be lived. Every celebration reminds one of: Bliss, joy, happiness, kindness, compassion, harmony, sweetness, love, light and all these and more we do for our self and specially for our soul.  For moksha.

Happy brand new beginnings. Happy 2019








.
Every morning it's a habit to wake up and great the Sun.  So on first of January 2019, and every new year was a normal routine in personal rituals. After that gatherings with family.
 Last year -2018- was lined up with celebrations, achievements, gatherings, changes, and huge decisions, not sure what order, but sometingh like that.. 
And of course lots of noises. Celebrations are close to my heart - it represents collected gratitudes -moments with beautiful souls- it’s a gift of life. Not only I stop and disconnect, but also stop and come together. Eat together, sing together, dance together.
 Achievements made me aware of those goals that came out ok- while being a seeker. See life to me, is not about goals. Less about setting them up, so this year no goals, just to be.
Gatherings brought those moments together as one- kind of celebrations, but sometimes we come together just to be.
Change is part of life with out Change life is stagnant, decisions are for a higher means of course in life-so we all grow as families, friends and society even better as we evolve. 
Every year always ends in Suriname with a bang!
Kabooms everywhere- loads of noise.

This year we started the year with more silence. Silence is the most simplest thing we can do for our self care.
Love Silence. 
It thought me not only to zip my lips, but all those sounds in my head to observe: those critics, judgments, slowly they all disappeared.
After Silence  life is a gift in each and every way.

Hopefully this year will be all the best as previous years combined with more ayurveda, yoga, silence, meditations & dharma, so we can spread more harmony, love & light- more being.
